Gratinated Pasta with Salsiccia

A creamy and flavorful gratinated pasta with juicy, delicious Italian salsiccia. The dish is easy to make, very filling, and gets a lovely golden cheese topping in the oven. Serve with a green salad.

Gratinated Pasta with Salsiccia

Ingredients

  • 200 g salsiccia
  • 3 onions
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • 100 ml cream
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt and pepper
  • 300 g penne
  • 1 ball fresh mozzarella

Instructions

  1. Fry the salsiccia until it has some color
  2. Chop onions and garlic and add to the pan with thyme, oregano, and basil
  3. Add chopped tomatoes and cream
  4. Season with salt, pepper, and sugar
  5. Let the sauce simmer for 10 - 15 minutes
  6. Cook the pasta al dente in plenty of salted water
  7. Mix the cooked pasta with the sauce and pour it into an ovenproof dish
  8. Spread mozzarella over the pasta and bake at 200°C conventional oven for 20 - 25 minutes until the cheese is golden
