Dark Chocolate Cookies with Sea Salt Flakes

Soft and fudgy chocolate cookies with a deep cocoa flavor and plenty of dark chocolate. They are crispy on the edges, soft in the middle, and get an extra delicious twist with a small sprinkle of sea salt flakes on top.

Dark Chocolate Cookies with Sea Salt Flakes

Ingredients

  • 120 g softened butter
  • 100 g sugar
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 125 g all-purpose flour
  • 60 g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 150 g dark chocolate, coarsely chopped or chocolate chips
  • Sea salt flakes

Instructions

  1. Beat together butter, sugar, and brown sugar
  2. Add the egg and continue beating
  3. Add flour, baking soda, cocoa powder, vanilla sugar, milk, and salt, and beat until you have a uniform dough
  4. Fold in the chocolate
  5. Chill the dough for at least 1 hour
  6. Shape balls using a tablespoon or ice cream scoop, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between them as they will spread
  7. Bake at 180°C (conventional oven) for 10 - 12 minutes
  8. Top with sea salt flakes
