Instructions
Dissolve the yeast in the buttermilk
Stir in the sugar and egg
Add flour, salt, and cardamom and knead the dough using a stand mixer or hand mixer with dough hooks until the dough comes together and pulls away from the bowl
Let the dough rest covered for 1 hour
Divide the dough into 12 rolls and shape them round
Let the rolls rise covered on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for another hour
Brush the rolls with egg and bake them at 225°C (standard oven) for 10 - 12 minutes
